Using data to drive your marketing decisions isn’t a new concept. But how many well intentioned business owners are forgetting to do it, just the same?
Checking your Google Analytics reports monthly isn’t just going to help your marketing efforts, it’s going to help your business.
Here are 4 important reasons you should be checking your Analytics monthly.
1. It’s free.
Like many of our favorite Google products, Google Analytics comes free of charge.
For small business owners everywhere, this price tag is as good as it gets – especially when you can get such invaluable data from it.
2. Easy to use.
Once you get the hang of it, Google Analytics is extremely user friendly. What’s more is that you’ll be able to make your monthly Analytics check nice and easy by using Dashboards and emailing it monthly.
With Dashboards, you can customize the information you receive from your Analytics account (so as to not get sucked into the black hole of data). That way, you get only the details that matter to you and your business.
3. Be proactive.
I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve been able to find an issue via Google Analytics on a client’s website prior to them finding out from their own customers.
Proactively monitoring your data means that you’ll be the first to know if something – good or bad – is happening on your site.
4. Track everything.
From general tracking (like channels that are bringing visitors to your website) to high level campaign tracking to conversion tracking, you can quite literally track everything that’s happening on your website. These insights are invaluable when it comes to making marketing decisions and giving credit where credit is due.
